Expertise from many sources
We turned to a team of industry experts for the know-how in Marketing Builder, like Alexander Hiam, noted author of Marketing for Dummies (not included), the Vest Pocket Marketer and co-author of the Portable MBA in Marketing; and marketing professionals from some of the world's most respected companies. Mark Jordan, a former marketing manager with HP, Radius, and Sun Microsystems added depth to both ends of the marketing spectrum.
We also gathered materials and best marketing practices from award-winning ad agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and fast-track small businesses who created dramatic impressions with small budgets. And all these documents are organized in one place to make your work easier, faster and more efficient.
Marketing Analysis Tools for Every Day

Who is your target market?
Am I your target audience? Is my wife? My son or daughter, my father or mother? If you don't know who your audience is, how can you sell it anything? A fitness trainer saying that his market is overweight people is not specific enough. Is it overweight men or women? By how much are they overweight? How old are they? What are their biggest challenges? What are their hopes for the future? Trainers use different methods for different people... and marketers do the same. Ask yourself questions like these to find your ideal audience.
You'll find the methods and formulas, the words and advice to help you target your customers, analyze your competition, determine the future value of a customer, name and launch new products or services, even select an outside marketing firm. You'll find all the tools you need to analyze and track your programs. Click the "Marketing Management Spreadsheets" tab above...
I purchased your software for updating our own business-to-business marketing plan and was pleased to find the Internet marketing plan option included. I also appreciate the resource links on your website for industry analysis and other data.

60-Day Get-the-Job-Done Money-Back Guarantee
We use Marketing Builder ourselves, and we made it to work the way you do. It takes the headache out of good marketing planning, and saves you money, too. If it doesn't or you don't feel you got your money's worth, for any reason, we will buy it back from you. JIAN is here to help you succeed, and make our world a better place for business.
Marketing is part art and part science.
Both require the right tools.
Now you have them.
Intuitive document management system works with familiar Microsoft Office applications
Menu-driven from start to finish, its organized system gives you a sample marketing plan that has been thoroughly proven. There are no new programs to learn — Marketing Builder is easy
to use — edit the sections using your familiar Microsoft® Word word-processing software.
- JIAN's Multi-user Interactive Document Assembly System (MIDAS) makes adding, editing and managing documents fast and easy
- Just scroll through each section and edit using your familiar Microsoft
Word.
- Experts' comments throughout each section, in green, guides you every step of the way, explaining issues
and making suggestions to help you do it right.
- You can add, edit and customize any document the way you like.
- Drag & drop sections to change the order.
- Collaborate over a network, server or the Internet (Each user requires their own licensed copy.)
- Check the boxes for each section you want to include in your final printed document.
- You can even add your own external documents, new sections and print to PDF
(See the pull-down menu in the example above).
- Share your plan online with consultants, partners and employees
I've seen others that are too complicated with gantt charts etc, and this was easy to for them to relate to the bottom line. Everything was clear, well thought out and and very well founded in good marketing principles.
- Renee Domeier, VP Western Region Sales, Goldman Promotions, Thousand Oaks, CA
A better software context for making marketing decisions
Some software products present you with a screen and some check boxes or radio buttons expecting you to make your decisions then and there with the system taking over to produce your marketing plan. We think that is more difficult for you as well as a bit dangerous — at JIAN we look for “beyond the buttons” solutions and ideas that may actually work better for your company.
First, you need to be shown the bigger picture, offered some choices and provided with thorough explanations before you commit your business to a certain choice. Therefore, we don’t limit you to checkboxes and radio buttons, instead, we provide the entire marketing plan where you can read the options and edit the text your way. Throughout, we provide expert comments explaining each choice and making suggestions to consider for each section within the context of your entire marketing plan.
A very practical and time-saving approach to marketing planning.

Part of an integrated family of proven business development software tools
Downloading Marketing Builder is a great start. Now, what if you could also take the work you put into your business plan and reuse it with other important projects in the future? You can.
All JIAN's product work the same way
We use the same software program platform to power all of our products — which, in-turn, manage familiar Word, Excel and PowerPoint templates. You already know how to use the Office tools... Learning Marketing Builder is easy, and applies to a growing number of useful tools to build your business.
Continue to build your business using JIAN's tools
JIAN offers a complete suite of companion products to help you market, publicize, and build your business as it grows. We make it easy for you to cut and paste from your business plan to your employee handbook, expanded marketing plan, PR plan and press releases, etc. Our web site is also rich with articles, affiliates and links which will be invaluable to you in addition to the software programs.
Use these sample marketing plan templates to become a marketing hero overnight
Yes, that's right. In some organizations everyone seems to think they are an expert in marketing. And most want to do everything all at once. An exaggeration for sure, but if you're in a business like we've all been in businesses, this may be a little close to home...
To really do marketing right — and spare what budget you have for marketing to get the highest return — you need to get a look at the big picture. Put all of the puzzle pieces on the table, sketch a picture of the finished image, then put the pieces in place in a logical order.
Most of us cannot start with a blank slate — things are already underway; however, you can zoom out and look at what you are doing at the same time that you consider what you could do, and then prioritize accordingly and keep going. Marketing Builder includes the tools to help you do exactly that.
Updated! Marketing ToolKit decision-support spreadsheets

Reviews of Marketing Builder professional marketing planning software
Here's what a few Experts and other Professional Marketers say... (Many if these have been inserted throughout the promo copy here, but here they are all together + a few more.)
"If I really did my marketing right I could avoid a lengthy sales cycle, I wouldn't waste money on unnecessary advertising gimmicks, and my salespeople would invest their time more efficiently—now that's actually possible."
- Pat Napoles, President, PBN Publications
It's a good tool. I attended a marketing seminar at which your software was recommended. We have offered in the past a website requirements analysis and Internet strategy document called an eCASE (eCommerce Assessment Service for Executives) for IBM solutions that required significant hardware and software investment.
I am retooling it to take a marketing perspective from requirements analysis, including a competitive analysis, to a website design schema, and suggestions for marketing with estimated budget requirements.
I purchased your software for updating our own business-to-business marketing plan and was pleased to find the Internet marketing plan option included. I also appreciate the resource links on your website for industry analysis and other data.

We'd done the preliminary work but it all got scrapped by corporate headquarters. They changed parameters, so I had to work from scratch. I had a week and a half...
You had the whole template. It worked like a charm and it's been terrific! We just stuck in our own ideas and data. I know it saved hundreds of man hours because we didn't have to start from scratch.
The presentation went great, the people I addressed were not marketing people... management, operations, finance, a classic dog & pony when you need a budget for x, rationale, prove why we needed the budget, etc. Excel was easy. For non-marketing people it was a very simple bridge.
I've seen others that are too complicated with gantt charts etc, and this was easy to for them to relate to the bottom line. Everything was clear, well thought out and and very well founded in good marketing principles.
