Here’s a brief, yet potent life lesson…
One day I walked into the corner pharmacy looking for a nail file,
I needed a nail file otherwise I was going to chew off a rough fingernail…
What a problem to have!
I had no idea that I would leave with such a profound revelation…
At first, on the left, I noticed a wall full of utensils with large handles for those with arthritis. Wow, cool!
It’s great that there are so many nice utensils that are easier to handle for so many people.
Across the store were all the crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, and dollies with air tanks and other things I didn’t recognize,
Whoa, I had no idea what a variety of devices were available!
(And some I had no idea what they were for…)
In the middle of the store were the rows of shelves with everything you can imagine for your eyes, skin, hair, teeth, feet…
And, of course, in the back was the pharmacy.
Why was I in here?
Oh yeah…
A nail file.
Was that it?
Was that all I needed?
Was that my big problem?
There were so many useful things here!
But all I needed was a fingernail file.
Not much by comparison with all that was available for a myriad of other issues I was thankful not to have.
And I’m thankful that all those things are available for others and even me someday if/when I may need them.
Thank you to the people who created them and got them to market!
I’m often mindful of all that I DO have, but rarely so vividly
reminded to be thankful for the issues and problems I DON’T have!
Something to consider.
So far so good!
I’m thankful for that.
