By the author of Business Black Belt, the book on conscious business management.
I’ve been getting a lot of emails lately on creativity. I don’t have a class or anything to sell on this, but do I have an idea that I want to share with you.
It may just be the very thing that frees your mind to be more creative.
It’s not a matter of going out and becoming creative, it’s a matter of letting go of what you think you know or what you think is going on, and being open to something else.
Lets play a brief game:
Blink…
and when you open your eyes look around for everything that is Yellow.
Look around. Look at the things on the wall, clothes, flowers, pieces of yellow in paintings — look for anything yellow.
So, while you’re busy looking around for everything that’s yellow, I would bet that you didn’t see very many things that were blue.
Did you?
But notice how easy how quickly and easily it was for you to tune your mind to find everything Yellow.
It’s like tuning your radar, and you did it automatically.
Just by mere suggestion!
Can you imagine the effect of all your distractions during the day?
Each could carry a similar subliminal command for you to fixate on yellow…
Or any color…
Or any idea!
And it’s difficult to see anything else.
Now that you are aware and conscious of this, you must realize that you can tune your own radar.
You can tune your mind to look for what you want.
If you want to fixate on your problems, that’s almost all you’ll see.
Or you could focus on finding solutions.
It’s just as easy.
One of the keys to creativity is as easy as that.
Be aware and conscious of your present state and adjust your radar to align with your goal.
I hope you found this bit of Business Black Belt wisdom useful!
